Harley Whomble

Foster Coordinator

Harley, a west slope native, serves as the Foster Coordinator for Second Chance Humane Society. He joined the team at the end of 2025 as an Animal Care Specialist and has been dedicated to supporting animals both in-shelter and in foster homes.

With personal fostering experience, he has seen firsthand the impact a home environment can have on animals experiencing shelter stress, fear, anxiety, or medical challenges. Many of these animals show remarkable improvement in foster care—gaining confidence, healing, and ultimately finding their long-term homes.

In his role, he works closely with fosters to ensure each animal receives the care and support they need. As an Animal Care Specialist, he also collaborates with every member of the shelter team to support animals throughout their journey and help ensure successful, well-matched foster placements.

He believes fostering is more than temporary care—it’s a meaningful way to build community. By bringing people together through a shared purpose, fostering creates lasting impact not only for the animals, but for the people involved as well.

Outside of work, he enjoys caring for his plant collection and continuing to expand his knowledge of horticulture. At home, he shares his life with his two dogs and three cats.
