We wish that every pet in the world could be loved as much as our Second Chance “alumni”. We hear every day from families who share photos of their beloved cats and dogs who were once homeless. Now, they’re treasured members of their families.

We wish for loving homes for all our homeless pets. Cats, kittens, dogs, kittens, and senior pets all deserve to be safe, warm, loved, and treasured. We’re proud that over 400 pets were adopted this year.

We especially wish for homes for our long-term residents like Roscoe. He is a young shepherd mix who has been with us since May. He’s had a great time going out on hikes and skiing with volunteers, but he is ready for a home of his own. He has received lots of attention and training and is ready to be a loved pet.

We wish that our AOGO (Adopt One, Get One) cats would be adopted. They have spent their entire lives at the shelter and missed out on being adopted as adorable kittens because they came down with a virus and needed to be isolated. When you adopt one of our “calici kittens”, you can take one of their friends home, too!

We wish for more volunteers. We have such dedicated, compassionate, and reliable volunteers. They are the best! However, there is always room for more. Events, shelter, thrift shops, or admin- so many ways to help!

We wish for foster homes. We always have dogs and cats who would benefit from some time out of the shelter. Whether it’s a week or until they find their people, foster volunteers can make a huge difference in the lives of shelter pets.

We wish that no one would have to worry about how they will afford to feed their beloved pets. Our Pet Pantry is available to those who are experiencing hard times and need some help with pet food and supplies.

We wish for spaying and neutering to help reduce the number of unwanted cats and dogs. Whether it’s practicing TNR, altering family pets, or providing assistance, we are committed to helping wherever we can.

We wish for the continued success of our shops. Whether people donate merchandise or shop, patronizing our shops is an easy way to help our pets.

We wish everyone would remember us in their end-of-year giving plans. Whether it’s a few dollars or a larger donation, our pets and people appreciate it so much. We can’t fulfill our homeless pets’ wishes without our generous donors.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Second Chance Humane Society!
