Nicholas Gilman

Director of Strategy, Development, and Animal Advocacy

Nicholas has worked in animal welfare for 42 years, doing everything from direct care of animals to executive director, national disaster relief, cruelty investigation, consulting and shelter design. He has dedicated his career to animal advocacy and advancing the welfare of animals and the organizations that serve them. He worked for three years for the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and for seven years for the American Humane Association (AHA), where he served as Director of Animal Programs.

“I look forward to continuing to work with the Second Chance Board to expand our ability to reach the animals that most need our care and compassion,” says Gilman.

Nick lives in Ridgway with his two cats, Treehouse and Olive.
