Originally from Maine and with a lifelong passion for animals, Lindsey had visited Telluride a handful of times before making it her permanent home at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Eight months later, driven by passion and vision, Dirt Dawg Co. was opened, a locally owned pet store in downtown Telluride that offers grooming and self-wash stations.
The move to Telluride marked a significant chapter in Lindsey’s life, offering new opportunities and experiences. Despite the uncertainties of the pandemic, one thing was certain- everyone was getting pets. She remained steadfast in her determination to create something meaningful. Shortly after opening, a valued partnership with Second Chance Humane Society started. Many store regulars are rescues from Second Chance. Dirt Dawg Co. has not only allowed Lindsey to realize her dream of owning a business, but it has also created a space where her love for animals and community engagement could thrive, enriching the lives of pets and their owners alike.
Growing up in Maine, Lindsey is very thankful for her childhood, where her mom taught her the love of animals. This early exposure instilled a deep appreciation for the bond between humans and animals, which has shaped her life and career choices. Lindsey currently lives in the woods of Wilson Mesa with her partner Evan and their two dogs, Pip and Buddy! Pip and Buddy can often be found at Dirt Dawg, enjoying lots of treats and love! When they are not at the shop they are exploring new hikes or finding high alpine lakes to swim in!
